Laserage Technology Corporation partners with Medical OEMs by providing extensive laser processing capabilities and custom cable assembly services. We offer precision laser machining, cutting, drilling and welding of many materials including stainless steel, titanium, platinum, borosilicate, quartz, ceramic and silicone. Applications include components for implantable devices, medical instruments, surgical implements, delivery systems and dental instruments. From prototypes to high volume production, we will deliver your product on time and to your rigid specifications. Laserage is committed to the continuous improvement of our technology and to exceeding our customers' expectations. We strive to set unexcelled standards of quality, dependability and technology in order to provide the best value and service available enabling you to meet the stringent demands of today's medical industry. Laserage is registered to ISO 13485:2003 for medical device components and to ISO 9001:2008 for all other products and components.
Laserage has been applying laser technology to implantable medical devices for 30 years. Our first application, processing ceramic material for hybrid microelectronics, applied to many implantable devices. Shortly after our experiences in ceramic processing began, Laserage focused our laser on other materials. Stainless Steel and Titanium components for bone screw are examples of laser welding applications. Laser machined stainless replacement vertebrae stiffeners, Titanium pacemaker shields, and stents have all become a part of our experience.
Experience is important in the laser processing industry. However, excellent equipment is also required to be outstanding. Today, our state-of-the-art stent production equipment offers the highest production rates available with both Stainless and Nitinol (Nickel Titanium alloy) tubing. Other bio-compatible materials have also been cut and processed using our techniques. To date, extensive custom stent designs have been produced successfully. Our quality system provides statistical feedback while assuring our processes are in control. Using our standard cutting equipment, the minimum achievable feature size is less than 0.002" (0.05mm). Laserage has a broad customer base servicing a wide range of markets within the stent industry. No matter what your stent requirements are, we have the engineering expertise and equipment to make your designs achievable.
Our experience with laser welding of various materials has been adapted to the design of smaller, lighter and more reliable surgical implements. Orthopedic tools such as bone harvesters and bone shapers were made to last longer by combining hardened tool steel to Stainless Steel. Other precision welding examples include biopsy forceps, surgical probes, laparoscopic instruments, and valve cutters. Power train components are laser welded for higher strength and reliability for dental drills and polishers.
Laser cutting of difficult material such as hardened steel, ceramics and composite material can solve challenging manufacturing problems. Likewise, laser drilling of small controlled diameter holes in difficult materials has made it possible to design unique drug delivery systems and flow control orifices. Over a quarter billion precisely located 0.005" (0.13mm) diameter holes have been produces for one particular application.
Laserage can assist you in the development and production of your unique diagnostic equipment. With over a decade of custom cable assembly experience for high reliability applications, we have crafted a lean manufacturing system utilizing laser stripping, laser marking, and ultrasonic soldering. Our JIT philosophy includes focus on the factory floor and the quality system. Also, an inventory pull system is in place to keep a reliable supply of components while minimizing inventory costs. We can assist you with your redesign of smaller , lighter electronic packages by laser machining of ceramic or advanced composite substrate materials for hybrid microelectronic devices. Laserage can support your prototyping and engineering development needs by rapidly delivering metal and/or plastic panels, bracket and housing components laser cut and/or machined with minimal hard tooling required. Let our experience assist you in meeting your goals and production deadlines.
Together, Laserage's 30 years of experience in medical manufacturing and state-of-the-art equipment, as well as our ISO 13485:2003 registered quality management system, assure you of excellent quality products and delivery, providing top value for your medical component investment.
